Bright lights, tiny agriculture.
I thought I took a picture of the first sprouts, but apparently not. This is about a week ago...soon after SPA.
It is a little lettuce stage. Broadway foliage, ready for its close up.
This is also from a week or so ago, right after SPA.
I fell hard at Amy King's feet. This is Superwash Merino in "Joshua Tree", pre-drafted and ready to go, streaky and beautiful like fireworks. For after I finish "The New Black" merino, already on the Majacraft, and the "Sangria" and "Berry Pickin'" merino/silk. Not to mention the thrummed mittens - a story for another day. One with more pictures and daylight.
But the Spunky fiber is beautifully prepared, drafts perfectly and easily into airy coils of goodness. Doing it a bit at a time as I go is herky-jerky, and disrespects the fact that predrafting is a thing itself, not just a means to an end. SPA helped me remember how much fun it is to really get to know the fiber before I begin to work.
This is what I get when I come home...after she forgives me for leaving.
Baby girl woke me with a tremendous crash this morning.......a large glass vase is no more. I cleaned it up and thought nothing further of it....nor of the fact that I hadn't seen the cat. I thought she scared herself and hid, and later I saw her snoozing on the guest bed, very much as per the usual.
Tonight I came home to see her limping quite badly. She seems unperturbed, but one leg is definitely not taking any pressure. Off to catch her and see if she's got a cut from the glass or if she hurt herself in some other way.
Update: Miss Kitty seems to have broken one of her claws off quite short - from which I infer further adventures after vase breakage. Also she would like it if I would stop assaulting her dignity by insisting on examining the afflicted limb. She if FINE, dammit. Now fuck off, puny human.
I appreciate the good wishes, however.

Poor Moxie. I am sure she is better by now, I'm behind on my blog reading.

Ahhhh! I love the lettuce! So spacey! And I hope kitty is okay. Don't you love the "leave me alone" attitude? Oh, and the pink and white roving? Beautiful. Can't wait to see it spun.

Because she's jealous of the lettuce.

You poor dear. Have a nice glass of wine and a few extra minutes' spinning. She did it to get your attention.

Neat garden! Here's hoping kitty recovers well. Mine had similar adventures with a window. We had replaced a window in the house and set the old one aside where (we thought) kitty couldn't get at it. Yup, kitty knocked it over and cut her shoulder! She recovered just fine.

Cats in pain can be quite grumpy and indignant! And a broken off claw has gotta hurt.
Cute lettuces.

Poor girl! I'm glad she's ok. And, well, I'm a bit worried that my bad cats and your darling cat have a bit too much in common. Speedwell and Yarrow decided that a candle of ours, which was made in a glass jar, was a good tool in gravity experimentation. And they smashed it. And Speedwell cut his paw a little bit. Is there some national glass-breaking holiday for cats we don't know about?

Ouch! Poor baby. Only a flesh wound! ;)

Glad to hear that the kitty is fine. I need to know more about the lettuce sprouts, please.

Felines are maddening (but cute). I hope the little one is OK.

Jeez, I hope kitty's foot is ok!

I'm still loathing after an aero garden. I saw on the web that they have strawberries now too... yum!!
I'm such a sucker for pre-drafted fiber. It looks perfect like that.
Hope the kitty is okay!

Love your lettuce seedlings, the roving looks lucious and good enough to eat with a spoon. Hope your kitty is okay- probably a little sliver if glass in her foot pad.

Uh oh - did the crazy kitty get cut?

If you're going to fall, falling at Amy's feet isn't a bad place to land.
Those aerogardens are a mighty cool little item, but since my thumbs are black, I'll just watch from the sidelines.
I hope the kitty is alright, too!

See, this is why I couldn't handle kids. I want to come over & make sure your kitty girl is OK... and cats have better self-preservation instincts than children. I'd be a nervous wreck. I'd have to lock them in an empty closet to keep them out of trouble (and keep them from harrassing the cats and waking me up at night)... and I just wouldn't look pretty on the 11 o'clock news.
Whoops. I do go on.

I confess to being quite interested in your Aerogarden. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to following the adventure.

Hope your wee girl is ok. Boychild had a wonky foot today too, but that's because he was kicking the ice just a bit too hard yesterday coz he tells us his boots have armour plating. Um, kid? The silver on your boots is just a colour, honey... Ah well. It's just deep bruising and he should be fine tomorrow.

I hope little cat is OK!!
And I really am sorry my dog got all freaky on you. Weird ass dog.

Hope kitty is okay. Maybe cut tendon? Ouch.
I just finished Falklands wool in Claret. Yum. I'm a new fan of that particular ilk of barberpole. Can't wait to ply and see what happens.

the lettuce IS adorable, but i really hope the cat is ok. not a cat person myself, but i can't bear to see one in pain either.

Now that's just about the amount of gardening I could handle . . . your lettuce is adorable!
