7 minutes.

So this morning I hit the snooze and returned to the delightful cocoon of down blankets to contemplate the inside of my eyelids and the deliciousness of being entirely surrounded by weightless coziness.

I began to make a list in my head.

First, go to the gym.

Then - you know, the sheets need changing and the suitcase is still in the living room with dirty clothes in it.  Time for laundry.

And mind you, laundry that you put away moron, not laundry you wash and fold and leave in a basket to be rummaged through on an ad hoc basis.

Where did I put my belt when I left my jeans by the washer yesterday - in the basement?  I hate going down there in the morning - the extra flight of stairs is so demoralizing first thing.  Eh, no matter.  Gym clothes are on the banister.
You know, Home Depot is by the gym - I bought the wrong size joint for the gutter pipe I need to fix.    Do that before the laundry, more efficient.   And Target - the gym socks are vanishing at an extinction level pace.

Ok.

Work on drain pipe while laundry does its thing
Oh, and those boxes by the door for goodwill?  Put those in the car - been sitting there too long (you have too much stuff.  How about not buying anything for a few days?)

And you know, it wouldn't kill you to vacuum something.  The cat hair is out of hand.

Lau....

Hold on.  I'm forgetting something.

No really?

Its only 7:45, not late for working out yet.

....

....

7:45?  I'm working out at 9.  Why is the alarm set this early?

It's Thursday

Thursday?

Yes, Thursday.

Not Saturday?

Thursday.  When you leave for the office at 7:45?  At least theoretically?

Shit.

(Sound of bare feet on floor)

Except for the snooze button part this just reads like my life. Oh and the fact that I wake up stupid early without an alarm.

So nice to know I'm not the only one out there with morning issues (or laundry issues, for that matter) :)

My alarm has been particularly annoying this week, too. TGIF and 2 days not to hear the alarm...yippee!

See mine goes off at 6:20. Dog = no snooze. If I hit the snooze, she comes over and sticks her nose in my ear. Not a fun way to wake up.

Get dressed. Feed and walk dog. Get back home by 7:00. Call upstairs to eldest son to make sure actually OUT of bed and the proceed to physically DRAG youngest son out of his bed (he is so not a morning person), finally enticing dog to lick youngest's ticklesh feet to get him moving. Make cup of tea. Chide children through morning ablutions, dressing and breakfast. Pack kids and dog into car by 7:40 and drop kids at school. Return home with dog. Reheat tea (or brew new cup). Take shower and get dressed for work. Sit down on couch with load of laundry to fold and cup of tea. Doze off while folding socks. Wake with jolt 1/2 hour AFTER I was to be at office.

TGIF!!

Have you been reading my diary? Right down to the "put your laundry away"?

There is little that is more disappointing on a sort of day-to-day level than realising it's NOT a weekend. But remember what it feels like when you wake up real early on a Sunday, not realising it's Sunday, then you suddenly realise it's Sunday? Mmmmm... let's go to that happy place.

7:45?? You lucky duck! By 7:45 I've aleady put in 1.5 hours of work and done my hour commute!

Heck, it's not even 7:45 yet for me!

sigh...

Stupid jobs, getting in the way of all of the other stuff.

do you read Antonia, of Whoopie?
You guys need to have lunch
except she lives in London.

At least it was a Thursday, and not Monday! Clearly you have some sleep to catch up on.

I bet that got the old heart rate elevated! Hope your day got better.

Ooof. I hate it when that happens. Although:

a) Thursday and Saturday look exactly the same to me right now (massive, massive work deadlines. Work deadlines so heavy they are sucking all matter toward them at an astonishing and Einsteinian rate).

b) I never, never set my alarm that early.

I feel ya on that. Nothin worse than being denied a Saturday at 7:45am.

I can completely relate. Last week, on Tuesday, I was completely convinced during that snooze time that it was Friday. I was also extremely disappointed.

I didn't even hear my alarm this morning. Oh, and I also thought it was Saturday. Disappointing doesn't begin to cover that.

Ooooo - that's a rough way to start a work day. But a good sign of a deep sleep?

Been there. :D I blame DST.

Ha ha - what is it lately with you, me and almost everyone I know having major (even more than usual) morning difficulties? During the last two weeks, when the alarm goes off I feel like I have been hatefully and unceremoniously yanked out of the deepest sleep-cave.
